Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner fails to back local warden
27 February 2018
As community policing declines in the town, Crowborough Town Council recently appointed a Community Warden. But Katy Bourne, Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, hasn’t made good on her promise to assist with funding for the post. The council has tried reaching Ms Bourne by phone and email, but she quite simply hasn’t responded - even though she had committed to paying £15,000.
Colin Stocks of Wealden Green Party used to chair Crowborough Town Council Environment Committee, and still attends meetings. He says, ‘Katy Bourne’s calendar shows she had time to visit school children in Kent, even though she plainly feels too busy to communicate with Crowborough Town Council, which is in her own county. I welcome Crowborough's appointment of a Community Warden and have written to her asking her to step up and confirm the funding she promised.’
If you’d like to contact Ms Bourne, here’s where to reach her: firstname.lastname@example.org or Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Sackville House, Brooks Close, Lewes, East Sussex, BN7 2FZ.
