Elect Diane Gould – Horam and Punnetts Town

Dear Resident,

I’m Diane Gould, your local Green candidate for Horam & Punnetts Town. I’m proud to be standing for election on Thursday 10th July. It’s been inspiring to see all the amazing work our two Green District Councillors, Greg and Cornelie, have been doing for residents in the area over the last few years – with Cornelie now standing down, I’m honoured to be your Green candidate for Horam & Punnetts Town.

Diane has the skills for the job and a track record to prove it

I’ve lived and worked at Furnace Brook Farm & Fishery near Cowbeech for the last 25 years. I’ll work hard to represent the area I love. As a Pearly Queen, I’ve been fundraising for charity and campaigning my whole life. Looking after the most vulnerable in our society is at the heart of the Pearly ethos, and if elected I would continue to speak up for all those in our community.

Having experienced first-hand the devastating effects of water pollution, which wiped out my fishery in 2024, I will continue to hold those responsible for polluting our waterways to account and fight to protect our countryside. As a result of this event, I have plenty of experience navigating the various agencies, councils and regulators – experience I will be able to draw on to stand up for you

I have a broad range of skills and experience in the community. As your councillor, I will be able to get even more done for Horam & Punnetts Town. As a Director of Furnace Brook CIC, I know what it takes to run an organisation that is committed to protecting nature and bringing people together. I will bring these skills to the administration at Wealden District Council and join the fantastic team already delivering for residents across the District.

Diane will keep fighting to hold Southern Water to account

Wealden District Council have already won a ground-breaking case against Southern Water and a developer in Horam, meaning adequate waste water infrastructure will need to be put in place before any new homes can be occupied – stopping sewage flooding our streets and waterways. I will continue to stand up against inappropriate development and hold the water companies and developers to account.

Only Diane can beat Reform here

At the last local elections, the Greens beat the Conservatives – now we’ll beat Reform! The Conservative candidate doesn’t have enough support to win here, so this time, it’s a clear two-horse race between the Greens and Reform. Only we can offer real hope and real change!

Best wishes,

Diane Gould

Diane with Horam & Punnetts Town Councillor Greg Collins
