Local Greens Patricia Patterson-Venagas and Georgia Taylor were instrumental in the clean up of the Medway river this last weekend.
Of the more unusual items that were picked up were a five bar gate.. but the message remains the same. We need to look after the places that we love otherwise they will... The planet will survive the human species but with the global catastrophe set to will mankind survive?
Georgia commented " as a Green activist it is imperative that I can support these initiatives in the community. Our rivers are the core of many communities providing crucial space for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately the Medway like the majority of rivers in England (86%) fail to meet quality standards. We can only hope that our contribution plays a small part in rectifying this situation"
